Registration

Yes. To pay for your registration fee by cash or cheque, please email runforsouthlake@southlake.ca or phone 905.836.7333. Please note that all registrants will be entered on the online system.

You can join a team online by selecting "Join a Team" on the Registration page.

Please email runforsouthlake@southlake.ca or phone 905.836.7333 to facilitate this change in your registration.

A fast and easy way to register a team is by registering to fundraise online. Select "Start a New Team" on the Registration page and proceed with the registration process.

Chips are embedded in the bib and will be activated upon crossing the start line. Bibs should be pinned, unmodified and fully visible on the front of your shirt through the entire race.

Any participant requiring a change to their corral may do so before Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 4:00 PM by contacting us at runforsouthlake@southlake.ca or 905.836.7333. Corral changes after April 7 will be subject to a $5 processing fee and can be done at the time of your race kit pick up.

Donations

Funds raised through the Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake will help purchase the most urgently needed new and replacement tools not funded by the government, and that our staff rely on to provide leading edge care close to home for you and your loved ones.

Make cheques payable to Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation and mail to our office at 102-581 Davis Drive, Newmarket, ON, L3Y 2P6. Please ensure the donation form is filled out with team or individual contact information as well as complete address information for all donors. For cash donations, contact us at runforsouthlake@southlake.ca to arrange processing. All cash and cheques must be received by 4:00PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in order to be counted towards the fundraising Team Challenge.

Online donations will be reflected automatically once a donation is made and completed. Offline donations have to first be processed by the Foundation and then uploaded to the fundraising platform.

Yes. You are responsible for collecting any donations from individuals who have pledged to support you.

No. Team fundraising totals are NOT eligible towards Individual Fundraising Incentives.

Incentives will be mailed out three weeks after the event. If you have not received your incentive three weeks after the event, please email runforsouthlake@southlake.ca or phone 905.836.7333.

Tax Receipting

If you donate online, you will receive an electronic tax receipt within 30 minutes. The Foundation will aim to issue tax receipts for offline donations within two weeks of receiving the donation.

Yes. However, if you make a team donation it will not count towards your personal Fundraising Incentives.

Website

Your Participant Centre is an online hub that helps you manage your fundraising efforts. Your Participant Centre is available as soon as you register, and contains tools that will help you fundraise for the event. Access your Participant Centre here.

  • Tell Your Story: Customize your personal page with a personal message and a photo or video. Sharing YOUR reason for supporting Southlake inspires others to give.
  • Set your fundraising goal: Communicating your goal to your friends, family, and colleagues will let them know where you're headed and how much support you need to get there.
  • Email: In your Participant Centre you can find ready-to-use email templates that will only take minutes to customize to suit your friends and family! Email your networks to ask for pledges and don't forget to thank your donors.
  • Track Your Progress: Use your Participant Centre to track donations made to you online, track your progress towards your fundraising goal, and, if you are a team captain, the Participant Centre can also help you manage your team.

Yes. If you registered last year and signed up this year using the same user name or email address, the website will remember your information.

If you are manually entering email addresses to your contact list, please do not separate the addresses using a colon (;). Kindly use a comma (,) to separate the addresses. If you continue to have problems, please email runforsouthlake@southlake.ca or phone 905.836.7333.

Yes. Please follow the upload instructions in your Participant Centre.

Photos can be up to 4 MB and will be resized to 300 by 400 pixels. Images must be .gif, .jpg, or .png files.

Yes. You can add a video to your personal page, but it would replace a photo (i.e. you can have either a photo or a video, but not both). YouTube has been selected as the only source as it is the most widely accessed and viewed site for video information.

No. Your privacy is important to Southlake Foundation and therefore, staff and volunteers cannot view or access your online information. Your information is confidential and only accessible by entering your personal username and password, to which Southlake Foundation does not have access.

Event Day

The start and finish line of the race are located at the Newmarket Senior's Meeting Place, 474 Davis Drive, Newmarket. View your race route here.

There is no on-site parking at the Seniors Meeting Place. FREE parking is available across the street at the Tannery Mall, 465 Davis Drive, Newmarket. Please note that entry and exit to the parking lot closes at 7:45 AM and reopens at approximately 10:30 AM. There will be a full road closure on Davis Drive East and Westbound from Parkside Drive to Leslie Street from 7:30 to 11:00 AM.

Join us in the Athlete’s Village and meet with our sponsors and vendors prior to our Opening Ceremonies at 8:00AM! The Athlete’s Village is in the Senior’s Meeting Place Parking Lot.

Pick-up is exclusively at Nature's Emporium, 16555 Yonge St., Newmarket, on Friday, April 25, from 4:00 to 7:30 PM and Saturday, April 26, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Don’t forget to bring your cash donations when picking up your kit.

Opening Ceremonies begin at 8:00AM and finishes when the last participant crosses the finish, around 10:30AM.

For safety reasons, only service animals are allowed on the course.

Yes, strollers and wagons are welcome in this family friendly event! We just ask that when registering you select a time that accommodates for our competitive athlete’s to complete the route in advance of strollers entering the route.

It is not necessary to register youth in strollers, wagons, or being carried however if you would like them to receive a race kit, medal, or be eligible for other incentive prizing they would need to register for the event. Any child that is participating independently does need to be registered and receive a bib to enter the course.

Unfortunately, no. Please come ready to run with valuables at home or in your car.

Rain or shine (hopefully shine), the event goes on. Please dress appropriately. There are washrooms, but there are no lockers or change rooms on-site.

Water and a snack are provided at the finish line and there will be a variety of food and drink available in our Athlete’s Village either included or for a donation.

Absolutely! Friends and family are welcome to join you at the Athlete’s Village or along the route to cheer you on. There are a variety of bands along the 5K route for them to enjoy, check your email closer to the event day to see all of the festivities on the route.

Bring any donations collected to our donation table located inside the Senior’s Meeting Place gym prior to the Opening Ceremonies. You can also bring them with you in advance to Race Kit Pick Up.
