I’m excited to share that I will be running the 5K for Southlake Hospital NICU this April, and I’m fundraising specifically for the NICU! ♀
This year, I’m running for a very special reason: Mila Grace. Her tough journey began in the ER, where an incredible team of doctors, pediatricians, and respiratory therapists quickly rallied to stabilize her. We watched as they worked so hard to give her a fighting chance. Once she was stable enough, she was transferred to the NICU where the most caring and dedicated nurses took over her care. But the journey didn’t end there. Later that night, we received the terrifying news that Mila had stopped breathing and needed to be transferred to SickKids for more specialized care. It was a scary moment, but her strength and the expertise of the doctors and nurses kept her going. After a long and difficult journey, Mila ended her time in the hospital back at Southlake NICU and Pediatrics, where her care had come full circle. Their exceptional care was a lifeline for us.
I’m fundraising because every dollar raised helps fund the critical equipment and advanced technology that our talented clinicians need to care for families like ours. Your support is helping to provide leading-edge care, close to home, for our community.
If you’re able to, please consider donating to support the NICU and the amazing work they do for our family, friends, and neighbors. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support!
