My story.
There are moments in life when we find ourselves leaning on the kindness, dedication, and expertise of others. For me, it was at Southlake.
This hospital has been there for me in ways I can never fully express. It was here that I experienced the joy of bringing my two beautiful children into the world. And it was also here that this same hospital became my lifeline when I was diagnosed with cancer. From the doctors who guided me through my treatment to the surgeons who fought for my future, from the nurses who comforted me through the toughest nights to the volunteers who brought warmth and hope and of course the psychosocial oncology team who were an essential part of my journey offering emotional and mental support I needed to face each day with strength—it was their dedication that carried me through.
My health team helped me navigate the fears, the uncertainties, and the overwhelming emotions. Their kindness, understanding, and unwavering encouragement reminded me that I was never alone in this fight.
Now, I want to give back to this incredible hospital, and I need your help. I’m participating in the Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake to raise vital funds for patient care. Your donation—big or small—will support the very people who save lives every single day. It will help provide the resources they need to continue treating illnesses with expertise, and offering hope and healing to those who need it most—physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Please consider giving what you can. Together, we can ensure that this hospital remains a place of healing, hope, and new beginnings for families like mine.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
P.S. Did you know the government does not provide funding for most new or replacement hospital tools and equipment? Everything from basic tools like beds and IV poles to state-of-the-art surgical and diagnostic equipment is funded entirely through community support.
