I started volunteer at Polo for Heart for High School volunteer hours back in 2005! After the first year I was hooked and convinced (didn't take much convincing) my mom, sister and best friend to join me the very next year. "The Slade Girls" as we are affectionately known by the Polo for Heart committee have been volunteering ever since. My Mom and I joined the committee a while ago now and have been running the Silent Auction since 2018.
Polo for Heart has raised money for Southlake Regional Health Centre's Cardiac Care Program and the Heart and Stroke Foundation over the years which both have incredible personal impact on my life. As a paramedic, it's amazing to see the impact of the cardiac cath lab has on patient outcomes in the region that I work for. As a grandkid, cardiovascular health and stroke care very near and dear to my family and my family members are doing as well as they are because of extensive research and funding by these incredible causes.
